The 5 minute rule.. taking small steps
All of us have desires in life… to improve, to read, to exercise, to run a marathon, to save money and many more. The biggest challenge we face in fulfilling our desires is lack of time or limitation to achieve bigger goals (like running a 25 mile marathon or saving 10 lacs as contingency fund).
All of us have created a myth for ourself that the desire or goal is too big to achieve and we keep stopping ourself to even start towards our goal.
But once we start questioning ourself for smaller goals, that is when we can actually start our journey to achieve those bigger goals.
Can’t we read for 5 or 10 minutes in a day (I am sure all of us have those 5 or 10 minutes to spare)
Can’t we run for only 5 minutes
Can’t we do 10 push ups, 10 squats or a minute of rope skipping
Can’t we save a mere 5k a month
Once we start challenging ourself to achieve those smaller milestones, that’s when it becomes easier for us to start, to initiate our bigger plan.
Moving or advancing a little step is always better than not moving at all.
Whatever goals or desires you have… and you think are too big or difficult to start or achieve… start small.. keep moving one step at a time.. until you achieve what you have always wanted.
“ Not moving will take you Nowhere , moving at a slow pace will take you a step closer to your goal”
